Out and About Group.

Our motto for the Out and About Group is “Keep Active Keep Healthy”.

No you do not need a track suit and plimmos?. Our aim is to keep the body and mind active. So if you are fed up with Loose Women, Corrie, Eastenders and even the news, Why not contact us and join in?

Remember if you are single, married, male or female we have something to interest you. We are currently organising visits to places of interest, theatres, historical walks, the courts and prison.

Walks are proving to be popular with members, undertaking a nice walk of around four miles which gives them a good appetite for a meal or a minimum of tea and cakes.

Recent outings have resulted in members being in court and jail. Nothing untoward we must say, our first visit to the Leeds County Court gave the group an insight into how the legal system works and how verdicts and sentences are determined. The group have since been to Armley Jail where they again had a guided tour and presentations on how the reform system works for offenders.

Other interesting visits have shown us how they get the fizz into the cans of a famous soft drink and how the monks at Ampleforth grow apples from which they make their own cider.

Other visits to the courts and prison are currently being arranged along with theatre trips, country walks and visits to National Trust Properties.

Several walks all of approx. 4 miles are being arranged.  Including a walk by the river Wharf at Tadcaster, around Eccup Reservoir (No Swimming allowed) Along the old railway lines (That’s the old Fly Lines not Network Rails main line to Leeds)

Additional activities are being introduced all the time, so if none of the above interest you, why not call us with your ideas and we will see what we can do.
